Biography

Kate Clarke, born in California, USA, has been living in Holland for more than 35 years. She speaks fluent English and Dutch and graduated from the University of Leiden as a psychologist. Confronted with her own ‘in-betweenness’ as a Dutch-American, she discovered that by working with her own biographical stories, she was able to link these two identities together. A bridge was created.
She started her career as a career counsellor for re-entry women in the Dutch Office for Women and Work. Later Kate Clarke worked as a manager in the Dutch Labor Office. In 1996 she started her own office for career counseling, training and coaching.
In 1995 she became a certified Self-confrontation coach.

Kate Clarke encourages people to tell their stories. Her questions challenge the person to step out of the comfort zone and dare to explore new and sometimes unknown territories of the heart and soul. She helps clients to look at desires and wishes long buried by the years. That these wishes then gain a new voice and can be heard. Kate uses her pragmatic ‘American’ side to make sure that the client can translate these wishes in practical skills and concrete plans.
