Many people in Holland are immigrants to this country, bringing their rich cultural background into the Dutch daily life. Some are born and educated here and raised by parents who themselves were brought up in other countries. Think of all the ex-pats who have spent many years in various lands and cultures, themselves a fusion of languages and values with distant Dutch roots.
Cultures influence us more than we think. Our identity evolves as we learn to deal with differences in environment, in language, in traditions and values. Being ‘different’ is a constant reminder of having to live and work between different sets of values, between internal sometimes clashing cultural identities. This ‘betweenness’ has a richness, but can also cause confusion.
Kate Clarke has developed a coaching style which includes the effects of living and working in different cultural settings. You can seek out the strengths of your cultural fusion as well as the tensions created by the cultural clashes in yourself.
Discover the best of all your worlds and learn to incorporate this in your work and relationships.
Cultural Awareness coaching is also for those persons working in a highly diverse company and who wish to become more culturally sensitive. Learning and improving cultural competency and at the same time becoming more aware of one’s own cultural bias can increase management people skills.
Make a difference and make difference work.
